Production Shoot
As the art director of the production shoot, my role involves overseeing the visual aspects of the project. This includes creating and maintaining the artistic vision, ensuring that the set, props, and overall aesthetics align with the desired creative direction. Additionally, I collaborate closely with the team to bring together elements like colour schemes, design concepts, and overall visual cohesion to enhance the project's impact and meet its objectives.
PRE-PRODUCTION
Silent Storyboard
As the art director of the production shoot, my responsibility is to discover a 3 locations that matches the storyboard and provide props for the video. Additionally, I need to find similar outfits for the actors to wear, following the style presented in the film 'Silent'.
LOCATION
Thankfully, I found 3 locations that matches with the film and it's all in or near Taylors! Here are the location pictures from the shoot.
Scene 1: Taylor's staircase near the lakeside.
Scene 2: DK Senza playground
Scene 3: Taylor's E1.01 studio's sofa
PROPS
I also prepared the props for the actress, which included a small gift box, makeup powder and earphone. The earphone was prepared by the actress. I forgotten to take photo of the gift box but here's a picture of it from the shoot.
OUTFIT
I ensured that the actors and actress had all the outfits they needed for the shoot
School Uniform
Casual Outfit
Comfy Outfit
After checking everything, I promptly informed the directors and producer.
PRODUCTION
Behind the Scene of Project S
As the art director, I discussed the scene aesthetics with the director, Director of Photography (DOP), and camera assistant, ensuring they resembled those in the original film. I consistently inspected the set and scenes through the camera to ensure everything was in order.
Woohoo! After 4 hours of filming and we're done!!!
POST-PRODUCTION
I've imported all the clips together into Adobe premiere Pro and rearranged the clips according to my liking. I've also added the graphics, sound effects, and voiceovers for the video.
I then added text and graphics between some of the scenes and also added rolling credits for the outro.
Next I added video transitions in most of the scenes, I applied film dissolve in most of the scenes and dip to black when the next clip is a text or graphic.
Colour Correction
For the bedroom scene, I wanted it to have a warm green filter because I think it suits the sadness aesthetic of the scene. So I went to the colour panel to change the colours and did some basic correction for the scene.
I also applied the same settings for the phone scene.
And also applied the same settings for this scene.
As for the playground scene, I went to the colour panel and applied brown filter by adjusting the colours and also applied a little vignette, because I wanted this scene to be a flashback form the girl's point of view.
I also applied the same settings for the girl's scene.
I applied the same settings for the girl's scene.
For the 'looking at each other' scene, I adjusted the color to a pinkish warm filter because I feel it's a romantic scene.

PROJECT 2: SILENT
PROJECT 2B: TIKTOK
We are required to shoot a creative TikTok video for this assignment.
Tik Tok Proposal
My main idea is to transform a monochrome world into a multicolored world simply by speaking the names of colours.
I shot both videos using an iPhone 14. I filmed them from two different angles because I plan to merge them into the same frame later.
Once I'm done shooting, I decided to edit my tiktok using the editing app "inshot" Firstly, I adjusted the colour of my clip to black and white to make it look like a monochrome colour.
Then I used the chroma key to change the colour of my blue shirt to yellow.
I also used the chroma key to change my shirt to other colours.
I then applied the chroma key to the second clip.
Then I created a split by masking the second clip into the first clip to make them look like they are in the same room together.
I then added patterns to both of their shirt to show that they can be multicoloured.
Next, I applied an animated colourful heart as the background to show that it's a multicoloured world.
I then applied effects whenever I jump or appear in another scene.
Next, I went to adjust the colours in the video to make it have a warmer and pinkish tone instead of a cool and dull tone,

FINAL SUBMISSION
REFLECTION
I found it quite refreshing to collaborate with this group, although there were varying levels of contribution. Some didn't fulfil their designated roles at all, so I tried to help other roles as much as I can. even though I don't really have experience in filming but I try my best to learn along the way. Recognising that some individuals lacked experience in group dynamics, I took the lead to facilitate a cohesive environment. In this capacity, I offered to help the camera assistants and assistant directors. As the art director, I aimed to ensure that every scene aligned seamlessly with the original film's aesthetics. Furthermore, I've discovered that colours and filters play a crucial role in delivering and enhancing the scene's message, I've really enjoyed adjusting and grading the colours for the videos. Shooting my TikTok video was a lot of fun, especially because it allowed me to explore new editing skills. I learned how to use chroma key to change object colors and experimented with masking to create the illusion of two identical people in the same room. It's been a fascinating learning experience.
